Pioneers in 15th place at Bearcat Classic

GREENWOOD, S.C. --- Tusculum's Dominic Barron Holden shot a one-under par total 143 for his first two rounds and is in ninth place at the 2022 Bearcat Classic.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being conducted on the par-72, 6800-yard Greenwood Country Club and is hosted by Lander University.

The Pioneers are in 15th place in the team competition with a 36-hole score of 601. TU opened with 300 and followed with 301.

Holden opened with a four-under par 68 in his first 18 holes and followed with a 75 for his 143 total and is four shots behind co-leaders Jonathan Nielsen (Carson-Newman), Bryson Boyette (Barton) and Linus Jonsson (Lander) who are at 139 (-5).

Carson-Newman has the day one lead with 577 and leads by one shot over Barton and are two shots clear of the host Bearcats (579)/

Tusculum's Nicholas Marchese shot 74-77=151 and is tied for 52nd place. Thomas Kollberg opened with an 80, but followed with a 73 for his 153 total and is tied for 66th place. Liam van Deventer is 83rd with his 78-77=155, while Isak Holter is 89th with 80-76=156.

Clayton State is fourth with 581, followed by West Georgia (586), Erskine (587), North Georgia (589), Belmont Abbey (590), Coker (590), Lander B (591), Newberry (593), Queens (595), Lenoir-Rhyne (598), Georgia College 600), Tusculum (601), Anderson (602), King (604), North Greenville (608), Wingate (610), Southern Wesleyan (616), Emmanuel (622) and Catawba (624).
