ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team fired a team score of 294 and was in 16^th place after Monday's first round of the 2021 Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate. Play for Monday's second round was suspended after seven holes due to inclement weather conditions.

The second round will resume on Tuesday starting at 8 a.m. followed by the third and final round of the two-day, 54-hole event held at the 7,136-yard, par-72 St. Johns Golf and Country Club.

Tusculum freshman Dominic Barron Holden shot a two-under par 70 and was tied for 10^th place at the conclusion of the first round. Senior John Bennett fired an even par 72 for the lowest round of his TU career and was tied for 21^st place. 

Junior Mark Healy and freshman Liam Van Deventer each shot 76 and were tied for 70^th, while rookie Isak Holter shot 80 to round out the TU scoring.

Lincoln Memorial took the first round lead with a 13-under par team score of 275 and led by two shots over West Florida (277). Limestone and Lander were tied for third place with 283, while Anderson was fifth with 284. Wingate is sixth with 285, followed by Georgia Southwestern (286), Flagler (288), North Greenville (290) and Young Harris (290) to comprise the top-10.

Newberry and Queens were tied for 11^th place with 292 after the conclusion of the first round. The trio of Georgia College, Belmont Abbey and Barton are in a three-way tie for 13^th with 293, followed by Tusculum (294), King (300), Christian Brothers (304) and Emmanuel (306) to wrap up the team scoring after 18 rounds of play.

Limestone's Gage Carnes posted the best round of the morning round with his nine-under 63 and led by one shot of Anderson's Reece Coleman (64, -8).
