TAZEWELL, Tenn. --- Tusculum College junior carded rounds of 71 and 70 for a three-under par 141 and is tied for fourth place after day one of the 2016 State Farm Intercollegiate.  The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being hosted by Lincoln Memorial University at the par-72, 6,746-yard Woodlake Golf Club. 

The Pioneers opened the day with 302 and finished with a second round 296 for 598 and are tied for 10^th place in the 15-team field.

Host LMU is in first place with 569 and holds an eight-shot advantage over second place Lenoir-Rhyne University (577).  Carson-Newman University is third with 579, followed by Brevard College (584), Southern Wesleyan University (587), Walters State College (592), Barton College (592), Anderson University (592), LMU Blue (595) and Tusculum (598) to round out the top-10.  Catawba is 11^th with 603, followed by Coker College (604), Mars Hill University (609), Brevard B (621) and LMU Gray (63) to round out the team scoring.

Mars Hill's Adam Lumley is the 36-hole leader with 71-68=139 (-5) and owns a one shot lead over LMU's Brandon Gibson (73-67=140) and Jake Headrick of Carson-Newman (68-72=140).  Lenoir-Rhyne's Hunter McCombs (72-69=141) and Brad Robinson (70-71=141), along with Anderson's Weston Bell (71-70=141) are tied for fourth place with TC's Smith.

For the Pioneers, Cameron Dugger is tied for 29^th place with 77-73=150, while David Whinery is 40^th with 75-77=152.  Chris Hutson shot 79-79=158 and is tied for 64^th place, while Anthony Bolden carded rounds of 88-76=164 and is tied for 73^rd place.  Senior Preston Tucker, who is competing as an individual competitor, is in 62^nd place with 76-81=157.

The final round (18 holes) of the tournament will be held on Tuesday.
