KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team climbed three spots up the leaderboard and finished 12^th at the 2016 Kiawah Island Invitational, which was being held at the Osprey Point Golf Club.  The Pioneers fired a final day 292 to finish with a two-round total of 590 in TC's season-opening tournament.

Tusculum senior Chris Hutson was the top finisher for the Pioneers as he carded a one-over par 145 for the tournament, including Tuesday's final round 75.  Like Monday, he recorded birdies on his final four holes as he finished tied for 18^th in the tournament.

Anthony Bolden shot the best round of the day for the Pioneers with his one-under 71.  He posted a two-day score of 147 to tie for 30^th place, along with senior teammate Cameron Dugger.  Dugger shot 74-73=147 for the 36-hole event.

The senior duo of Taylor Smith and Preston Tucker both fired rounds of 74 on Tuesday to finish tied for 67^th place with 78-74=152.

Rollins University won the team title with seven-under par total of 569 including a final round 279 to win by three shots over second place Valdosta State.  Coker finished third with 581, followed by Lincoln Memorial (582) and a tie for fifth place with Armstrong State (583) and Limestone (583).  Lenoir-Rhyne, Mount Olive and host USC Aiken tied for seventh place with 584.  Georgia College was 10^th with 585, followed by King (587), Tusculum, Belmnt Abbey (591), Erskine (591), Brevard (593), Flagler (595), West Georgia (596) and Barton (602).

Limestone's Cabrick Waters won medalist honors as he finished with a 65-72=137 (-7) for a two-shot victory.

Tusculum returns to action next week as they play in the Etowah Fall Classic at Etowah, North Carolina.
