Tusculum, LMU draw at Match Play Challenge

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --- The golf teams and Tusculum College and Lincoln Memorial University played to a 4-4 draw in the annual TC/LMU Match Play Challenge, held Saturday at Holston Hills Golf Club.

With just bragging rights on the line in what has become a favorite tradition of the Tusculum and LMU golf programs the two East Tennessee rivals squared off in the sixth edition of the event. Eight alternate shot matches were played with teams consisting of one male and one female player from each school in six of the eight matches, with two matches consisting of players from the women's teams only.

With the draw, Lincoln Memorial retains the title after capturing bragging rights at last year's event. The series now stands at 3-2-1 in favor of Tusculum.

In match two, TC's Cameron Dugger and Katie Tomassoni defeated LMU's Cody Johnson and Abigail Evans, 6 & 5.

LMU tied the score at 2-2 as Kurtis Campbell and Lise Malherbe won 4 & 3 over Chris Hutston and Cydney Murrell in Match No. 4.
