MONROE, N.C. --- For a second straight tournament, the Tusculum College men's golf team rallied from behind and won the 2015 J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Invitational, Tuesday at the Monroe Country Club.

TC finished with a three-round score of 885, two shots in front of runner-up Mars Hill (887) and three strokes better than tournament host Wingate.

The Pioneers capture their third team trophy this season and win the Hargett Memorial for a third time in the 15-year history of the tournament.

Tusculum entered Tuesday's final round in fifth place and five shots behind tournament host Wingate. The Pioneers carded the low round of the week at 291 led by Chris Hutson's career-low round of 67 (-5). Taylor Smith and Nick Forsberg followed with 74 each, while Warren Cheney added a 76. Tusculum junior Brad Hawkins was forced to withdraw due to injury so the Pioneers would have to count all four scores in the final round.

In their last tournament, the Pioneers rallied to win the Tusculum Invitational earlier this month.

Smith was the top Pioneer finisher as he shot 221 to tie for 11th place. Hutson logged a 224 to tie for 22nd, while Forsberg tied for 24th place with 225. Cheney rounded out the scoring for the Pioneers with 233 (T43rd).

North Greenville shot 889 to finish fourth in the team competition. Brevard shot 894 to place fifth, while Coker and King each posted 896 to tie for sixth place. Lincoln Memorial was eighth with 899, followed by Catawba (909), Lenoir-Rhyne (915), Pfeiffer (924), Queens-B (930), Shorter (938), Catawba-B (969) and Benedict (1041).

Individually, Lee Numpituckchaikul of King captured medalist honors with 71-70-71=212 (-4), two shots ahead of Evan Gfeller of North Greenville (70-73-71=214).

Tusculum returns to action when men's squad team's up with the TC women's squad for the annual Tusculum/Lincoln Memorial Match Play in Knoxville, Tennessee at Holston Hills Country Club.
