GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Lincoln Memorial men's golf team led wire-to-wire while posting a tournament-record scored of 552 to win the 2013 Tusculum Fall Classic. The two-day, 36-hole tournament was hosted by Tusculum College and held at the par-71, 6,763-yard Link Hills Country Club.

The Railsplitters shot 16-under par as a team for the tournament and won by 14 shots over Tusculum (566) for LMU's third straight TC Classic men's title (2011, 2012, 2013).

LMU was led by tournament medalist Tre Mullins, who tied a TC Classic record eight-under par 65-69=134, edging out teammate Rand Wasson who finished one stroke behind at 135. Mullins' final round included a hole-in-one on the par-3 third hole (Mullins' 12th hole of his round), which proved to be the winning margin.

Brevard's Sami Vanni finished third with 67-69=136 (-6), while Andrew Hall of Walters State finish fourth with 70-67=137 (-5). Milligan's Simon Treeby and Tusculum's Leif Ratliff tied for fifth place with a two-day total of 140 (-2). Treeby earned the final spot on the All-Tournament Team on a playoff over Ratliff.

Walters State finished third with 570, while Milligan and Tennessee Wesleyan tied for fourth place with 575. Catawba was sixth with 585, followed by Brevard (587), Lincoln Memorial B (594), Spartanburg Methodist (594), Mars Hill (601), Lenoir-Rhyne (604) and USC Lancaster (620).

Tusculum junior Warren Cheney finished in a four-way tie for seventh place with his 68-73=141 (-1), while senior Dakota Norton carded 71-72=143 (+1) to tie for 13th. Sophomore Nick Forsberg tied for 19th place with 72-72=144, while junior Coleman Glick accounted for 70-75=145 to finish 22nd.

Playing as individual competitors, rookies Chris Hutson (70-81=151 - T40), Jake Mendenhall (82-71=153) and sophomore Samuel Davis (76-84=160 - T61) rounded out the scoring for the Pioneers.

In conjunction with the men's tournament that is held simultaneously with the women's event, a combined championship is awarded to the school with the lowest aggregate combined score by its men and women's teams. Lincoln Memorial captured its third straight combined championship as the LMU men and women finished with 1172 for the lowest combined score in the eight-year history of the tournament. Tusculum finished second with 1206, followed by Catawba (1242), Mars Hill (1279), Lenoir-Rhyne (1289) and Spartanburg Methodist (1388).

Mullins' hole-in-one wasn't the only ace on the day. In the women's tournament, Converse freshman Ansley Vaughan also scored a hole-in-one on the third hole earlier in the day.

Tusculum returns to action on Oct. 14-15 as the Pioneers compete at the State Farm Intercollegiate in Tazewell, Tenn.
