GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Lincoln Memorial men's golf team led wire-to-wire to win the 20th annual Tusculum College Invitational this weekend at Link Hills Country Club.

The Railsplitters finished with a two-day score of 574, including Sunday's final round 292 to win by five strokes over second place Milligan (579) and six in front of host Tusculum Orange (580). The Pioneers and Carson-Newman each posted the best team scores of the day with 290. For LMU this was their first-ever Tusculum Invitational victory.

Carson-Newman senior Gavin Hay captured medalist honors as he posted a five-under par 67-70=137 to tie for the second-lowest 36-hole score in tournament history. Hay won by two strokes over Milligan's Whit Brown as he fired a 70-69=139 (-3). Virginia Intermont senior Trevor Banks finished third with 69-71=140 to earn a spot on the TC Invitational All-Tournament team for a second time in his career. Banks finished runner-up in his freshman campaign with 137 in the 2010 event.

There was a five-way tie for fourth place at 142 that included the Tusculum duo of Nick York and Nick Forsberg, along with Dalton Olawsky (USC Lancaster) , Rafael Jackson (Carson-Newman) and Cody Godfrey (Tennessee Wesleyan). Olawsky and Jackson earned the final two spots on the All-Tournament squad on a playoff.

There was also a five-way tie for ninth place at 143, including TC's Derek Cantrell, Milligan's Kody Fawcett, Brad Hawkins and Ryne Thompson of Walters State, and LMU's Jamie Chapman, the 2011 TC Invitational medalist.

Carson-Newman finished fourth with 581, followed by Walters State (583), Tennessee Wesleyan (584), Anderson (593), Limestone (597), Virginia Intermont (601), Mars Hill (602) and a three-way tie at 11th place with 603, which includes Bluefield State, Marian (Ind.) and USC Lancaster. Spartanburg Methodist and Tiffin were tied for 14th place with 604, followed by Parkland (612), Lincoln Memorial Blue (613) and Tusculum Black (631).

For Tusculum Orange, Leif Ratliff tied for 60th place with 78-76=154, while Dakota Norton posted 81-75=156 to finish 68th.

Warren Cheney led TC Black with his 75-74=149 to finish tied for 31st place. David Talley posted 82-77=159 (86th), while Coleman Glick (78-83=161) and Samuel Davis (78-84=162) finished 87th and 88th, respectively.

The Pioneers return to action Saturday, March 23rd as they compete in the Tusculum/LMU Match Play event in Knoxville, Tenn.
