GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Lincoln Memorial men's golf team posted a two-under par team score of 282 to take the first round lead of the 20th annual Tusculum College Invitational, which is being held this weekend at Link Hills Country Club.

The Railsplitters have two players in the top 11 as they hold a four-shot lead over Milligan (286) and an eight-stroke advantage over host Tusculum Orange (290).

Carson-Newman's Gavin Hay carded the best score of the day with his four-under par 67. Hay holds a one-shot lead over LMU's Braden Galyon (68) and a two-stroke margin over four players at 69, including Tusculum's Nick York, LMU's Rand Wasson, Cody Godfrey of Tennessee Wesleyan and Virginia Intermont's Trevor Banks.

Fifteen (15) players shot par or better on the par-71, 6,763-yard layout. Four players are tied for seventh place with 70, including Sean Shelton (Anderson), Brad Hawkins (Walters State), Whit Brown (Milligan) and Chase Dembisky (Mars Hill). Five players are locked in a tie for 11th place at 71, including TC's Nick Forsberg, along with Connor Froning (LMU), Dalton Olawsky (USC Lancaster), Mitchell Sutton (Milligan) and Rafael Jackson (Carson-Newman).

Four teams are tied for fourth place with 291, including Walters State, Anderson, Tennessee Wesleyan and Carson-Newman. Bluefield State is eighth with 294, followed by Mars Hill (295) in ninth and LMU Blue Team in 10th with 296.

Tiffin, Virginia Intermont and Limestone are in a three-way tie for 11th place at 297. Spartanburg Methodist is 14th with 300, followed by Marian (302), Parkland (303), USC Lancaster (309) and Tusculum Black (313).

Tusculum senior Derek Cantrell tallied a one-over par round of 72 for TC Orange and is tied for 16th place. Leif Ratliff posted a 78 and is tied for 74th, while Dakota Norton shot 81 and is in 86th place.

For TC Black, Warren Cheney is in 45th place with 75, while Coleman Glick and Samuel Davis are tied with rounds of 78 (T74th). Senior David Talley posted an 82 and is tied for 88th place.

The final round of this weekend's Tusculum Invitational will be played Sunday beginning at 8 a.m.
