ORANGE PARK, Fla. --- Tusculum's Nick Forsberg posted a two-over par 73 and is tied for 13th place after the opening round of the 2013 Spring Kick-off Intercollegiate. The Pioneers finished with 309 and are in a five-way tie for ninth place at the two-day, 36-hole tournament, which is being held at the par 71 Fleming Island Golf Club.

Forsberg accounted for three birdies in his round, including one on his final hole of the day as he is just four shots off the lead (69, -2) set by Wingate's Brian Denton, Nate Gahman of Georgia Southwestern and Juan Noce of Montevallo.

Georgia Southwestern has the first round lead with 286, six shots ahead of Montevallo (292). Lincoln Memorial and Saint Leo are tied for third with 294, followed by King (295), Central Oklahoma (296), Wingate (297) and Clayton State (308).

Tusculum, Carson-Newman, Flagler, Coker and Catawba are all tied for ninth place with 309. Lenoir-Rhyne is 14th with 310, followed by Cape Fear (311), Limestone (312) and Tiffin (318).

TC's Derek Cantrell is tied for 20th place with 74 (+3) after posting three birdies in his first round. Nick York fired a 79 and is tied for 56th place. Warren Cheney is 81st with his round of 83, while Dakota Norton posted an 88 (T83rd).

The final round of the Spring Kick-off Intercollegiate will begin Tuesday morning.
