PINEVILLE, Ky. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team carded a 299 and is in fourth place following the opening day of the 2012 State Farm Intercollegiate, which is being held at Wasioto Winds Golf Course.

Tusculum freshman Nick Forsberg birdied two of his final four holes to shoot a one-under 35 on his inward nine to finish with 73 and is tied for eighth place.

The Pioneers are six shots out of the lead, currently held by King College, who posted a 293. Belmont Abbey and Lenoir-Rhyne are tied for second place with 297, followed by Tusculum. Tournament host Lincoln Memorial has three teams in this year's event. LMU White is fifth with 301, while LMU Blue is sixth with 302. North Greenville is seventh at 303, followed by Walters State (304), Anderson (311), Wingate (311), Catawba (311), LMU Gray (312), Thomas More (313), Pfeiffer (317) and Mars Hill (325).

Forsberg is just two shots out of first place, which is held by co-leaders Mike Marcagi (Thomas More) and Arran Setro (Anderson), who each posted a one-under par 71.

TC senior Nick York and junior Dakota Norton are tied for 16th with rounds of 75. Senior David Talley and sophomore Leif Ratliff are tied for 25th place at 76. Sophomore Coleman Glick carded a round of 78 and is tied for 40th, playing as an individual competitor.

The final round of the two-day, 15-team event will be played on Tuesday,
