BLOOMINGTON, Ill. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team is tied for second in the nation in eagles according to this week's Golfstat NCAA Division II statistics.

The Pioneers have recorded five eagles, which are in a four-way tie for second with Bellarmine, Fairmont State and Fort Lewis, with Southern Colorado having the national lead with six.

Tusculum is also ninth in the country in birdies with 80, including a team-best 22 by freshman Nick Forsberg, who is tied for sixth, nationally in that category. The Staples, Minn. product finished 11th at the Tusculum Fall Classic, held earlier this week at Link Hills Country Club. Forsberg finished with 73-70=-143, including a hole-in-one on the 16th hole at Link Hills in Tuesday's final round of the Classic.

Tusculum made a strong second round charge as the Pioneers carded a school-record 278 to finish second in the 12-team event with a 36-hole tally of 570 (+2).

The Pioneers return to action Oct. 15-16 at the Lincoln Memorial Invitational in Pineville, Ky.
