GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team posted a two-day score of 613 to finish 15th at the Ninth Annual Kiawah Island Invitational, held at the par-72 Cougar Point Golf Course.
Tusculum freshman Nick Forsbert finished with 74-77=151 to tie for 36th place, individually. Senior Derek Cantrell and sophomore Warren Cheney each posted 152 to tie for 43rd. Senior Nick York placed 65th with 75-83=158, while senior David Talley rounded out the scoring with 83-91=174 (93rd).
Fifth-ranked USC Aiken won the team title as the host Pacers posted a 576, edging out No. 12 North Alabama by a single shot (577). Coker was third with 587, while Erskine and Newberry tied for fourth with 590. Georgia College and Belmont Abbey each carded 596 to finish sixth, while Armstrong tallied back-to-back 299's to shoot 598. Georgia Southwestern finish ninth with 602, followed by North Georgia (603), Carson-Newman (608), Limestone (609), Barton (611), St. Thomas Aquinas (612), Tusculum, Lenoir-Rhyne (619), Brevard (626), Mount Olive (628) and Fairmont State (644).
The Pioneers return to action next week (Sept. 24-25) as they host the Tusculum Fall Classic at Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville.
