SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team posted a final round 305 to finish with 617 and tie for 13th place at the Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate, held this week at the River Course at the Sevierville Golf Club.

Tusculum junior Dakota Norton was the low Pioneer for the tournament as he shot 151, including Tuesday's even-par 72 on the 6,994-yard layout. Norton finished in a tie for 32nd place and one shot ahead of teammate Nick York, who finished with 152, including a final round 73 to tie for 35th.

Rookie Nick Forsberg tied for 38th with 76-77=153, while Leif Ratliff finished with 78-83=161 for 67th place. Senior David Talley rounded out the Tusculum scoring with 86-88=174 to finish 83rd.

Belmont Abbey won the team title with 582, five shots ahead of runner-up Columbus State (587) and six shots better than Clayton State (588). Lenoir-Rhyne, Catawba and Newberry finished in a three-way tie for fourth place with 595, while North Georgia finished seventh with 599. Limestone and Carson-Newman tied for eighth place with 601, followed by King (606), Wingate (609), Lincoln Memorial (610), Tusculum, Shorter (617) and Brevard (618).

Tusculum returns to action next week as the Pioneers travel to the Kiawah Island Invitational in South Carolina (Sept. 17-18).
