CONOVER, N.C. --- Junior Nick York posted a three-round total of 225 to finish 10th at the 2012 South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship, held this week on the Jones Course of the Rock Barn Golf Club & Spa. The Pioneers posted a 54-hole total 925, including Tuesday's final round 301 to finish seventh in the team competition.

TC's 301 tied for the third lowest of the day by the 10-team field. Wingate University won the SAC Championship with 877, 15 shots ahead of second place Newberry (892). Carson-Newman finished third with 912, followed by Anderson (918), Lenoir-Rhyne (920), Lincoln Memorial (924), Tusculum, Catawba (940), Brevard (942) and Mars Hill (1041).

With his 10th place finish, York earns a spot on the SAC All-Tournament Team for a third consecutive season. York finished 10 shots behind tournament medalist Matthew Campbell of Newberry, who posted a 215.

Tusculum junior Derek Cantrell finished tied for 17th place with 79-76-73=228, while senior Justin Harvey carded an 81-78-76=235 to place 28th. Rookie Warren Cheney finished 37th with 87-79-76=242, while junior David Talley rounded out the scoring with his 82-85-81=248 to tied for 41st.
