PANAMA CITY, Fla. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team fired a final round 311 to finish with 631 and take 10th place at the 2012 Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate at The Hombre Golf Club.

Carson-Newman College won the 16-team tournament on the second hole of a playoff with Lincoln Memorial University and Flagler College, after the three schools tied at 601. Columbus State was a shot back at 602, followed by King (605), North Greenville (625), Anderson (627), Lenoir-Rhyne (629), Southern Wesleyan (630) and Tusculum in the top 10. Rounding out the field were Montevallo in 11th (633), followed by a tie for 12th at 637 between Central Alabama CC and Limestone. North Georgia (638) was 14th, with Catawba (640) and Cape Fear CC (651) claiming the last two spots in the standings.

Dakota Norton led the Pioneers with 156, including his final round 75 on Tuesday, to finish in a tie for 30th place individually. Nick York posted consecutive rounds of 79 to finish tied for 34th with 158, while David Talley accounted for 78-83=161 and tied for 49th with Derek Cantrell who also posted 161 off rounds of 82 and 79. Justin Harvey rounded out the scoring with his 84-78=162, finishing in a tie for 54th place.

Eric Kennedy of Lincoln Memorial won medalist honors in a playoff with Adrian Kibsey of King with an eagle. Kennedy and Kibsey each shot two-over-par 146 in the tournament, with Justin Grice of Columbus State in third at 147.
