ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College's Nick York has been named to the 2011 All-South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Team announced league officials Friday. The All-SAC Team is selected by head-to-head rankings as determined by Golfstat, Inc.

York, a 6-2, 180-pound sophomore from Kingsport, Tenn., leads the Pioneers with his 72.71 scoring average, which is currently the second lowest seasonal average in school history. The Sullivan South High School product has placed in the top 20 in six of his eight tournaments this year, including four top five showings.

York captured his first medalist honor of his young career by winning the Lincoln Memorial University Fall Invitational last October with a seven-under par 68-69=137, which is tied for the second lowest 36-hole tally in Tusculum history. He also tied for third place at the Tusculum Invitational last month, while posting fifth place finishes at the Honda Columbia Fall Classic and the Tusculum Fall Classic, both held this past September.

The 2011 SAC Golf Championship begins on Monday at Rock Barn Golf and Spa in Conover, N.C. Rock Barn is home to the Greater Hickory Classic PGA Champions Tour event. The men will play on the Jones course, while the women will play the Jackson course. Tee times begin at 8 a.m. Monday's competition consists of 36 holes, with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

The South Atlantic Conference will provide live updated scoring for the men's and women's golf championships. Live scoring will be available on the Golfstat web site.
