TAZEWELL, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team won its second team title of the season, while sophomore Nick York captured his first medalist honor of his career as the Pioneers won the 2010 Lincoln Memorial University Fall Invitational at Woodlake Golf Club.

Tusculum won the team title by six strokes as the Pioneers finished with 572, including a six-under par 282 in Tuesday's final round.

York, a native of Kingsport, Tenn., finished with a career-best 68-69=137 (-7), two shots ahead of the trio of Chase Epting (Anderson), Danny Dippel (North Greenville) and Clayton Woody (Cape Fear) at 139 (-5). Tusculum's Luke Fullen was one of four golfers tied for fifth at 140. Fullen shot a four-under par 68 in Tuesday's action.

Derek Cantrell tied for 20th with 73-74=147, while David Talley finished with 77-73=150 to tie for 30th place. Dakota Norton shaved 10 shots off his opening round score with an even par 72 on Tuesday to finish with 154 (T43rd). Tusculum senior Lawson George, playing as an individual competitor, posted consecutive rounds of 77-77=154 to finish 43rd.

Cape Fear recorded 578 to finish second, while host LMU placed third with 584. King and North Greenville tied for fourth place with 589, followed by Catawba (590), LMU B (592), Anderson (595), Limestone (599), Brevard (601), Walters State (601), Tennessee Wesleyan (608), Lenoir-Rhyne (617), Virginia-Wise (651) and Hiwassee (681).

Tusculum wraps up a very successful fall campaign, finishing in the top four in each, including wins at the LMU Invitational and the Anderson Invitational. The Pioneers return to action Feb. 7-8, 2011 at the Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate in Panama City, Fla.
