ANDERSON, S.C. --- The Tusculum men's golf team erased a three-stroke deficit to win the Anderson Invitational in a playoff Tuesday at the Anderson Country Club. The Pioneers shot a final round 290 to finish with 586 and tied with Pfeiffer, who carded a tournament low 285 on Tuesday.

Tusculum won the playoff, led by Luke Fullen and Nick York as the Pioneers capture their third Anderson Invitational title. TC won back-to-back championships in 2006 and 2007. Fullen and York shaved a combined 14 shots of their first round scores.

It is also the 25th Tusculum men's golf team title for Pioneer head coach Bob Dibble.

Fullen was the top TC finisher as he tied for sixth place with 75-72=149, eight shots behind tournament medalist Eric Kennedy of Lincoln Memorial, who fired 68-71=139 (-3). Lawson George and Derek Cantrell each finished with 149 to tie for 12th place. David Talley finished with 76-74=150 to place 17th, while York tied for 21st with 151, including Tuesday's final round of 70. York's one-under par final round was the best score of the day.

LMU finished with 287 to finish in third place, while Wingate placed fourth with 591. North Greenville finished fifth with 601, followed by Limestone (605), St. Andrews Presbyterian (614), Erskine (620), Lenoir-Rhyne (628) and host Anderson (635) to round out the 10-team tournament field.

The Pioneers return to action this Saturday when the play in the one-day, 36-hole Newberry Fall Invitational.
