ANDERSON, S.C. --- Tusculum College's Lawson George fired a one-under par 70 and is in second place after the opening round of the 2010 Anderson Men's Golf Invitational.

The Pioneers carded a 296 and are tied for second place with Wingate and three shots behind first round leader Lincoln Memorial (293).

George is two shots out of the lead, currently held by LMU's Eric Kennedy. Luke Fullen and Derek Cantrell are tied for 12th place with 75, while David Talley is in 16th place with 76 and Nick York shot 81 and is tied for 34th.

In the team competition, Pfeiffer is fourth with 301, followed by St. Andrews Presbyterian (307), North Greenville (309), Limestone (313), Lenoir-Rhyne (320), Erskine (320) and host Anderson (321) to round out the scoring.

The final round will be played on Tuesday at the par 71, 6,402-yard Anderson Country Club.
