ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team fired a second-round 307 on Saturday to finish tied in a three-way for eighth place at the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate in White Lake, N.C., hosted by UNC Pembroke at the Carolina Sands Golf Course.

Tusculum junior Luke Fullen carded a second-round 76 to finish tied with fellow junior Lawson George (74-75=149) for 24th place. Freshman Nick York (72-78=150) finished tied for 34th after carding a second round 78, while Will Loggins (76-78=154) and Matt Poff (75-81=156) finished tied for 54th and 69th, respectively.

Christopher Marsh of Coker College captured tournament medalist honors with a second round 69 to finish with a four-under-par total of 71-69=140. Thorudur Gissurarson of St.Andrews Presbyterian (71-70=141) and Jacob Murphy of Coker (69-72=141) finished tied for second with a two-day total of three-under-par, while Coker's Jared Crane (70-72=142) and Carson Lanier of UNC-Pembroke (73-69=142) tied for fourth at two-under-par.

Coker carded a combined second-round 285 to capture the team title with a 10-under par two-day total of 281-285=566. Host UNC Pembroke finished second with a two-day total of 287-290-577, followed by St. Andrews Prebyterian (294-294=588), Mount Olive College (297-296=593), and Lindenwood University (298-299=597).

Anderson University (S.C.) finished sixth with a two-day total of 303-295=598, followed by the Lindenwood University B team (300-299=599) in seventh place. Wingate University (307-294=601), Tusculum (294-307=601), and Newberry College (300-301=601) finished in a three-way tie for eighth place.

Tusculum returns to the links on April 19 in the first round of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament at the Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort in Etowah, N.C.
