SALISBURY, N.C. --- Tuesday's final round of the 2010 Richard Rendleman Men's Golf Invitational has been snowed out. Monday's opening round scores are the final results of this year's tournament.
Tusculum College's Lawson George carded an even-par 71 and the Pioneers posted a 300 on Monday to finish ninth in the team competition. The tournament was hosted by Catawba College at the Country Club of Salisbury.
George birdied four of his last five holes on Monday to shoot 33 on his inward nine to finish tied for 10th place. George finished four shots off the pace set by medalist Eric Kennedy of Lincoln Memorial University (67).
Tusculum's Glenn Vicary and Luke Fullen each posted 75 and tied for 34th, while Matt McIntyre and Nick York shot 79 and 82, to finish 61st and 78th, respectively.
Lander University won the team title with Monday's 283 (-1), three shots better than runner-up Belmont Abbey College (286). Queens University of Charlotte placed third with 288, followed by Georgia College & State University (290), North Greenville University (291), Catawba (294), Lincoln Memorial (297), Barton College (298), Tusculum, Coker College (301), Newberry (301), USC Aiken (301), Carson-Newman College (302), Lenoir-Rhyne University (306), UNC Pembroke (306), Pfeiffer University (311), Wingate University "B" (323) and Mars Hill College (338).
The Pioneers return home this weekend to host the 17th annual Tusculum College Invitational at Link Hills Country Club.
