Pioneers Finish 10th at Outback Intercollegiate

PANAMA CITY, Fla. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team posted a two-day score of 638 to tie for 10th place at the 2010 Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate, held this week at the Hombre Golf Club. The Pioneers carded a final round 322 in the 15-team, 36-hole tournament.

Flagler led wire-to-wire posting 580 to win by 20 strokes over second place North Greenville (600). Columbus State finished third with 608, followed by Newberry (609), Armstrong Atlantic (618), Cape Fear CC (627), Georgia Southwestern (628), Lincoln Memorial (630), Lenoir-Rhyne (633), Tusculum, Wingate (638), Catawba (643), Faulkner (647), Southeast Oklahoma State (654) and Montevallo (659).

Tusculum junior Lawson George was the low Pioneer of the tournament with 75-78=153 to finish 15th. Nick York carded 77-85=162 (T44), while Luke Fullen tallied 80-84=164 (T52). Freshman David Talley finished with 90-77=167 (T59), while senior Glenn Vicary also posted 167 (84-83) (T59).

The Pioneers return to action Mar. 1-2 as they compete at the Richard Rendleman Invitational in Salisbury, N.C.
