Tusculum Opens Spring Season with 316, Pioneers in Ninth at Outback Intercollegiate

PANAMA CITY, Fla. --- Tusculum junior Lawson George fired an opening round 75 and is tied for 12th place, following day one action of the 2010 Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate at the Hombre Golf Club. The Pioneers carded a team score of 316 and is in ninth place in the 15-team tournament field.

Flagler College shot the low round of the day with 285 and holds a five-shot advantage over North Greenville, Newberry and Georgia Southwestern, who each posted 300.

Cape Fear CC is fifth with 305, followed by Armstrong Atlantic (307), Columbus State (309), Wingate (314), Tusculum, Lincoln Memorial (318), Lenoir-Rhyne (319), Montevallo (322), Catawba (323), Faulkner (323) and Southeast Oklahoma State (327).

Tusculum freshman Nick York and junior Luke Fullen posted scores of 77 and 80, respectively. Senior Glenn Vicary posted an 84, while rookie David Talley shot 90 in Tusculum first outing of the spring season.

The final round of the 36-hole event will be played on Tuesday.
