PANAMA CITY, Fla. --- Tusculum College's Chase Carroll fired an even par 72 and is three shots off the lead after the opening round of the 2009 Outback Steakhouse Men's Golf Intercollegiate Monday at the Hombre Golf Club.

The Pioneers posted a team score of 304 and are 13 shots behind first round leader Clayton State (291).

Lawson George posted a 73, while Darren Christie accounted for an opening 78. Matt McIntyre shot 81, while Jake Scheffers recorded an 83 to round out the Tusculum scoring.

The final round will be held Tuesday at the Hombre Golf Club.
