SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College men's
golf team fired an opening round 314 and is eighth at the 2008
Chick-Fil-A Intercollegiate, held this week at the Crescent Golf
Club. The two-day event will conclude on Tuesday.
Chris Wynne tied for 21st with his opening round 77. Chase Carroll
is tied for 26th with 78, while Patrick Clapp and Jake Scheffers
shot 79 and 80, respectively to tie for 28th and 30th. Will Loggins
carded an 88 (T44th) to round out the scoring for the Pioneers.
Host Catawba shot 295 and leads the tournament by one shot over
second-place Lenoir-Rhyne. Mount Olive is third with 301, followed
by Limestone (302), North Greenville (304), Tiffin (307), Lincoln
Memorial (312), Tusculum and Wingate "B" (331).
Limestone's Brad Williams leads the chase for medalist honors with
his three-under par 69.
