CHRIS WYNNE TO COMPETE AT GATEWAY COLLEGIATE TOUR

PHOENIX --- Tusculum College's Chris Wynne will be competing in two tournaments during the upcoming holiday break in conjunction with the Gateway Collegiate Tour announced College officials.

The first event will be held Dec. 19-21 at The Wigwam - Gold in Phoenix, Ariz., followed by the second at Martin Downs Country Club in Palm City, Fla., Jan. 7-9.

The mission of the Gateway Collegiate Tour is to provide an environment where collegiate players can improve their games outside of the college arena in a highly competitive atmosphere, set under Championship quality conditions. The tour has been approved by the NCAA and the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Wynne, a senior from Johnson City, Tenn., currently leads the team with a 70.63 scoring average, which includes four top 10 finishes in the four fall events he played in. He tied for first place at the Tusculum Fall Classic, preceded by a second place showing at the Anderson Invitational. He currently leads the nation in Par 5 Scoring (4.30) according to the latest Golfstat Division II statistics.

Wynne was named to the All-South Atlantic Conference First Team a year ago, while advancing to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional as an individual competitor. He has also been named to the SAC All-Tournament Team on two occasions.

Tusculum opens the spring portion of its schedule, Feb. 4-5 at the Outback Steakhouse Invitational in Panama City, Fla.
