GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College Women's basketball team has announced that it will host its WBCA "Think Pink" Night, for the Pioneers' Feb. 13 home game against Wingate University. The game will tip-off at 6 p.m. at Pioneer Arena.
The WBCA's "Think Pink" initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across college campuses, in communities and beyond.
Tusculum women's basketball players, coaches and support staff will be wearing pink on game day to promote awareness of this dreaded disease. Half of all gate proceeds for the Feb. 13 women's game will be donated to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund. Additional donations will also be collected throughout the evening's festivities.
Tusculum is asking all fans in attendance to wear pink at the game as well.
The WBCA began its "Think Pink" movement in 2007 and over 800 colleges and universities have committed to this campaign this year, which will be held during home games from Feb. 8-17.
The Pioneers (17-3, 7-1 in South Atlantic Conference) will play two road games prior to the Wingate contest. Tusculum will be at in-state rival Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday, followed by Saturday's road trip to Catawba.
