ANDERSON, S.C. --- First-round leader Tusculum
College shot 300 in the second round to take a seven-shot victory
over Catawba College in the 2007 Anderson University Men's Golf
Invitational Tuesday at Brookstone Meadows.
The Pioneers finished with a two-day total of 581 on the par-72,
6,700-yard Brookstone course as TC wins this event for a second
straight year. Catawba was second at 588, North Greenville
University was third at 592, and host Anderson was fourth at
593.
First-round leader Allen Tuttle of Catawba went wire-to-wire to
take the individual title. Tuttle shot 1-under 71 in the second
round to finish at 6-under 138.
Tusculum's Chris Wynne shot 74 in the second round to claim a
share of second place at 143. Brad Caldwell of North Greenville
shot 69 to finish in a tie with Wynne. Caldwell's 69 was Tuesday's
low round. Chase Carroll finished with 72-73=145 to finish sixth,
while Lawson George tied for 12th with 68-81=149. Glenn Vicary
carded a 72-83=155, while Jake Scheffers shaved a dozen shots off
his opening round score with an even-par 72 to finish with 156
(T29th).
The Pioneers return to action in two weeks when they travel to
Seneca, S.C. to play in the Jack Shadwick Invitational.
