Bryce Jackson named SAC Elite 23 Award recipient

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University's Bryce Jackson has been named the 2024 recipient of the South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Wealth Enhancement Group Elite 23 Award. The award was presented at this week's conference tournament at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center.

The SAC Elite 23 Award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 23 team championship sports.

Jackson, a sophomore guard from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, holds a 3.978 GPA while majoring in sport management. He is a member of the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Athletic Director's Honor Roll, Dean's List, Charles Oliver Gray Honors List and the TU President's List.

He finished second on the team in scoring averaging 10.8 points per game while shooting 41.1 percent from the floor and 38 percent from three-point territory. His 85.9 free throw percentage was the best on the team and is currently fifth in the league and 48th in NCAA Division II. He averaged 1.5 steals per game (7th in SAC) and in his 16 starts, TU posted a 10-6 record.

He scored in double figures on 15 occasions including a season-high 24 points last December against Carson-Newman.

The Pioneers finished the year with a 14-13 record and advance to the SAC Quarterfinal round for a sixth consecutive year. Tusculum also posted its sixth straight winning season, a first in program history.
