Jordan named to SAC Men's Basketball All-Tournament Team

GREENVILLE, S.C. --- Tusculum University guard Connor Jordan has been named to the 2023 South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball All-Tournament Team.

Jordan, a junior from Morristown, Tennessee, averaged 15.5 points per game as the Pioneers advanced to the semifinal round of the SAC Championship.

In Wednesday's 73-71 quarterfinal win over Wingate, he scored 13 points and hit the game-winning free throws with 2.2 seconds left. He went 5-of-10 from the field and also recorded two rebounds and two assists.

In Saturday's 84-73 semifinal loss to eventual champion Catawba, Jordan accounted for 18 points and a career-high nine rebounds. He went 6-of-8 from the free throw line and also dished out four assists.

He finished the season second on the team in scoring where he averaging 12.3 points per game. His .878 free throw percentage was tops on the team and was the fifth-best average in school history. He led the team with 32 steals averaging 1.19 per contest. He finished the season shooting 50.4 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from three-point territory. He also averaged 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Tusculum finished runner-up in the SAC Mountain Division and ended the season winning six of its last seven games. TU advanced to the SAC semifinal for a third time in the last four years. The Pioneers (16-11) also posted its fifth straight winning season, the longest such stretch in school history.
