HARROGATE, Tenn. --- A second-half surge by Lincoln Memorial University erased a seven-point deficit and gave the 12th-ranked Railsplitters an 82-77 victory over Tusculum College in South Atlantic Conference men's basketball action Thursday night at Tex Turner Arena.

Tusculum scored the final eight points of the half on a three-pointer by Patterson, a basket by Mounce and a three from Javon Price just before the buzzer to go ahead 33-32 at the break.

Mounce led the Pioneers with 10 points and four rebounds in the first half while Carter had seven points and seven rebounds. Choice was the top scorer for the Railsplitters in the first half with 12 points, with Steele adding 10 points and four rebounds. Both teams shot exactly 40 percent from the field in the first half, despite LMU shooting 3-for-15 from three-point range as a team.

The Pioneers continued to lead 46-40 after a jumper by Mounce with 14:20 left, but a three-pointer by Webb jumpstarted an 8-0 run that gave the Railsplitters a 48-46 lead with 12:09 remaining.

Following a layup by the Pioneers' Zach Davis that tied the game at 48-48 with 11:56 left, the Railsplitters used a 20-5 run over the next 4 1/2 minutes to take their largest lead of the game at 68-53.
