ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College forward Keith Jumper has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week announced league official Tuesday. Jumper earns this honor for the first time in his young career and shares this week's honor with Vincent Bailey of Lincoln Memorial University.
Jumper, a 6-7, 220-pound freshman from Lexington, S.C., averaged 22 points and nine rebounds per game, while shooting 66.7 percent from the field in Tusculum's two games last week.
The White Noll High School graduate finished with 22 points and five rebounds in a 66-56 loss to conference co-leader Anderson University last Wednesday. He followed that with 22 points and a season-high 13 boards in Saturday's 86-84 home win against cross-mountain rival Mars Hill College.
Saturday's performance marked Jumper's second double-double of the season. He currently ranks 12th in the league in scoring at 13.5 points per game.
Tusculum (4-10, 2-4 SAC) returns to action on Wednesday when the Pioneers host Lenoir-Rhyne University (10-4, 3-3 SAC) for an 8 p.m. league contest.
