INDIANAPOLIS --- Tusculum College and Kyle
Moore continue to be listed prominently in this week's NCAA
Division II men's basketball statistics announced officials
Tuesday.
Moore, a 6-3, 185-pound senior from Gainesville, Fla., is currently
10th in the nation in scoring, averaging 23.2 points per contest.
Moore has 20 or more points on 11 occasions this year, including
six games of 30-plus.
The 2009 South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year is 10th in the country in three-point field goals per game, averaging 3.75 per contest, which is also tops in the league. He matched a career-best with his nine treys in Monday's 61-56 home win over defending SAC champion Lenoir-Rhyne University. In his last six games, Moore is averaging 5.5 three-point field goals per game.
The two-time All-SAC selection is also 25th in the country in three-point field goal percentage, gunning 44.1 percent from beyond the arc, including 33-of-67 in his last six contests.
As a team, Tusculum is 15th in the country in scoring defense, limiting the opposition to 60.5 points per game, which is also first in the SAC. TC has limited its opponents to 60 points or fewer on 11 occasions, going 9-2 in those outings. The Pioneers are ninth in three-point field goal percentage defense (28.7%) and 16th in three-point percentage (40.5%).
Tusculum (12-8, 6-3 SAC) is riding a four-game winning streak and is in a four-way tie for first place in the league standings. The Pioneers will travel to Harrogate, Tenn. on Wednesday to face fellow SAC co-leader Lincoln Memorial University for an 8 p.m. contest at Tex Turner Arena.
