INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College men's basketball
team continues to be listed in this week's NCAA Division II
statistics announced officials Monday. The Pioneers are listed in
three team categories, while Kyle Moore and
Ryan Troutman are mentioned a combined six times
in this week's statistical report.
Tusculum (18-8, 10-5 SAC), winners of 10 of its last 12 games, is
10th in the country in free throw percentage, shooting 75.9 percent
from the charity stripe. That average is tops in the South Atlantic
Conference and is on-pace to establish a new school single-season
record.
TC is also 21st in team three-point field goal percentage (39.3%)
and 29th in scoring defense (63.9 ppg).
Moore, a junior from Gainesville, Fla., is listed in three
categories this week, including scoring where he is posting 21.2
points per game, which is 19th in the nation. His average leads the
conference and is currently the second-best average of all players
in the NCAA II Southeast Region. He is averaging 24.4 points per
game in his last seven contests, including 30 points against
Brevard on Saturday.
Moore is also the league-leader in three-point field goals per
game, averaging 3.2 per contest (2nd in Southeast Region),
including 4.9 treys per outing in his last seven games. He is also
36th in the nation in three-point percentage, shooting 40.6
percent, including 34-for-63 (54%) in his last seven outings. He
has connected on 84 three-pointers this year, which are sixth in TC
history and seventh most ever by a SAC player. He is only six treys
off establishing a new season league mark.
Troutman, a senior from Mt. Washington, Ky., is also mentioned in
three statistical categories. The Bullitt East High School graduate
is 15th in the country in assists per game, dishing out 6.1 helpers
per outing. That average also leads the SAC and is second in the
region. He is also 17th in free throw percentage (88.3% - 2nd in
SAC) and 36th in assist/turnover ratio (2.12 - 2nd in SAC).
Tusculum will close out the regular season on Wednesday night when
it hosts Mars Hill College for an 8 p.m. contest at Pioneer Arena.
It will be Senior Night as the Pioneers will honor Troutman and
Marko Kostic in pre-game ceremonies.
