Dwight Evans was named to the Tusculum football coaching staff in January 2024 and serves as the defensive line coach.

He was on the defensive coaching staff for Coach Billy Taylor at East Tennessee State University from 2020-2023. Spring 2021, Quality Control assisted Steve Brown and the Defensive Backs. Fall 2021-2022 was the Ram’s coach. Fall 2023 moved to coaching the Buc’s Defensive Line.

Prior to ETSU, her spent two seasons at Urbana University where he coached the linebackers before the program was discontinued.

Evans spent three seasons as an assistant varsity football coach at his prep alma mater Sycamore High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was responsible for assisting in training, coaching defensive philosophies and helped with strength and conditioning, while coaching the Varsity Defensive Line.

Evans began his coaching career as defensive coordinator for the Sycamore freshman team in 2012 and held that position for three seasons. In 2014, he began working as an educational assistant at the high school where he helped coordinate instructional efforts with the teaching staff.

Evans played his collegiate career at Tennessee Tech where he was a three-year starter at linebacker and a member of the 2011 Ohio Valley Conference Championship squad. He appeared in every game for the Golden Eagles, compiling 160 total tackles and 22.5 tackles for loss.

At Sycamore, Evans was an All-State first team selection as a senior, posting 85 total tackles, including 65 solo stops, four sacks and one fumble recovery. He was named to the All-Southwest Ohio first team and garnered All-Greater Miami Conference first team honors. As a junior, he was an All-Conference second team selection and earned a spot on the All-Southwest Ohio team.

Evans earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Tech in 2012 where he majored in exercise science.
