ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University placekicker Joe Defatta has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Special Teams Football Player of the Week announced league officials Monday.

Defatta, a senior from Franklin, Tennessee, was perfect on all of his kick attempts in the Pioneers' 61-14 win at Shorter University on Saturday. He went 8-for-8 on extra points and also connected on a 28-yard field goal in the victory.

His 11 kicking points ranks him ninth at Tusculum for single-game kicking points and his perfect performance on PATs is tied for fourth all-time in the TU record book.

Tusculum (1-1, 0-0 SAC) returns home this Saturday to host Limestone College in the South Atlantic Conference opener for both teams.
