IRVING, Texas --- Tusculum College's Max Gaubert has been named to the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society.
Gaubert, an offensive lineman from Bogart, Georgia, has been an integral part of the Tusculum front line for the past four seasons, including the last three in the starting line-up. He has a 3.34 cumulative grade point average and is scheduled to graduate with his Bachelor's degree in special education next month.
The North Oconee High School graduate is a member of the South
Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll and the Tusculum
Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
To qualify for membership in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, a
student-athlete must: be a starter or significant reserve in one's
last year of eligibility at an accredited NCAA Football Bowl
Subdivision, Football Championship Subdivision, Division II,
Division III or an NAIA college or university; achieve a 3.2
cumulative grade point average throughout the entire course of
undergraduate study; and meet all NCAA-mandated progress towards
degree requirements.
Gaubert was one of six South Atlantic Conference football student-athletes named to the NFF Hampshire Society.
Past Tusculum honorees named to the Hampshire Honor Society include: Nate Binder (2009), John Gregory (2009), Jarrell NeSmith (2009), Ryan Tallent (2009), Gareth Rowlands (2010), Kent Aigbe (2011), Brian Alexander (2013), Bo Cordell (2013) and Dameon Herring (2013).
"The number of colleges and universities who embrace the Hampshire Honor Society continues to increase each year," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "Over the past decade, it has become a powerful vehicle for schools to recognize their college football players who have distinguished themselves both academically and athletically, and we congratulate the schools and each of these young men for their commitment to excellence."
