Tusculum to host Spring Football Game Saturday

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College football team will be hosting its annual Spring Game on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the TC Practice Facility. In the event of inclement weather, the Spring Game will be held at the Tusculum Indoor Practice Facility. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.

Head coach Frankie DeBusk has just completed his 15th season at the helm of the Pioneer football program, where he has amassed 82 victories, which are the most in Tusculum history and the third most in South Atlantic Conference history.

The Tusculum offense will be led by 2010 All-American quarterback Bo Cordell, who is on the doorstep of becoming the all-time leading passer in NCAA Division II history. Cordell has passed for 12,345 yards at Tusculum, which is already a school and conference record and is the seventh most D-II history, needing 2,388 yards to for the NCAA record. His 1,098 career completions are also the second most by a D-II quarterback, while he is 13th in all-time total offensive yards (12,412).

Defensively, rising senior linebacker Brian Alexander is back after finishing with 95 tackles in 2012. He also posted nine tackles for loss, including four sacks to go along with five pass break-ups. Alexander enters his final Tusculum campaign with 240 career tackles, which are the eighth most in school history.

Tusculum will open its 2013 campaign on Thursday, September 5th when the Pioneers host the College of Faith for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
