Chaz Story named to Capital One Academic All-District Football Team

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --- Tusculum College linebacker Chaz Story has been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District NCAA Division II Football First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Story will now advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® ballot as that team will be announced next month.

Story, a 5-11, 235-pound sophomore from Greeneville, Tenn., becomes the 19th honoree in program history to earn Academic All-District distinction. He has a 3.42 cumulative grade point average while majoring in political science.

On the field, Story has recorded 32 tackles in his 10 games, including two tackles for loss and a pass break-up. He posted a career-best six tackles in Tusculum's win over Brevard earlier this season. He also posted five tackles each against North Greenville, Catawba and Carson-Newman.

He is a member of the Tusculum Athletic Director's Honor Roll and his community service activities includes the Boys and Girls Club, Nettie Day of Service and has volunteered to assist the homeless in the region.

Members of the Capital One Academic All-District Team (NCAA II - Super Region 2) are selected by CoSIDA, which includes all colleges and universities that sponsor football in the South Atlantic Conference, Gulf South Conference, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and region independent members UNC Pembroke and North Greenville.
