TUCSON, Ariz. --- For a third consecutive week, the Tusculum Pioneers are ranked 14th in the nation according to the latest Collegiate Baseball News Division II Coaches' Poll.
The Pioneers (30-11) garnered 133 total points and have been listed in the national top-30 for the last nine straight weeks.
The top-seven remains the same from a week ago with Colorado Mesa holding the top spot in the country for a sixth week in a row. Angelo State is second, followed by West Florida, West Texas A&M, Central Missouri, Tampa and North Greenville. Illinois-Springfield is eighth and Lee University is ninth as the two schools flipped positions. Catawba is 10th, Mount Olive is 11th, Augustana is 12th, Charleston (W.Va.) is 13th, while Tusculum and Seton Hill are tied for 14th to comprise the top half of the poll.
Azusa Pacific is 16th, followed by Lindenwood, Metro State-Denver, St. Thomas Aquinas, Northwest Nazarene, Minnesota State-Mankato, North Georgia, Southern New Hampshire, Trevecca Nazarene, Missouri Southern, Delta State, UNC Pembroke, Millersville, Northwood and Wingate to wrap up the top-30.
Tusculum has recorded its 17th season with at least 30 victories. Of those 30 wins, 25 came in South Atlantic Conference play which are a new league single-season mark. The Pioneers did not lose a weekend series this spring, winning eight of the nine sets and tying one other. TU lost back-to-back games only once this year and posted winning streaks of three straight wins or more on five occasions including a season-long nine-game run from Feb. 21-Mar. 7.
