ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College's Andrew Bowerman and Jeremiah Tullidge have been named to the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Baseball All-Tournament Team announced league officials Tuesday.
Bowerman, a senior outfielder from Maryville, Tennessee, posted a .467 batting average in his four tournament games, with three doubles and three RBI. In Tusculum's 11-7 win over No. 2-seed Newberry College, the 2015 All-SAC selection reached base in all four of his plate appearances with a single, a double, a walk and was hit by a pitch. Bowerman also scored three runs and tallied a RBI.
On Sunday, he went a combined 5-for-8 against top-seed Catawba College and No. 5 seed and eventual tournament champion Wingate University. He went 2-for-3 against Catawba and posted three hits, including two doubles versus Wingate.
Tullidge, a senior from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, batted. 500 and posted a hit in all four of his SAC Tournament games. His best game came against Newberry on Saturday as went 4-for-5, including a pair of doubles, a home run and six RBI. Against Wingate, he went 2-for-2 with a run scored and three walks.
The Pioneers (29-18) went 2-for-2 on the weekend and finished third at the SAC Tournament. Tusculum will wrap up its season this week with five games scheduled. Following Tuesday night's game at Lee University, the Pioneers will open a four-game homestand, beginning with Wednesday night's game with the University of Virginia's College at Wise.
Tusculum will host Bluefield State College for a three-game series beginning with Friday's 6 p.m. contest at Pioneer Park. The second game of the series will be held Saturday night and will be part of "Pack the Park for Education". Festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. outside the stadium with food, music and games for the entire family, followed by first-pitch at 6:30 p.m. The series will wrap-up on Sunday at 1 p.m.
