HARTSVILLE, S.C. --- John Topoleski went 3-for-5 with three RBI to lead the Tusculum College baseball team to a 10-3 South Atlantic Conference win at Coker College Friday afternoon at Tom J. New Field.

The Pioneers (22-10, 16-5 SAC) pounded out a season-high 17 hits as TC recorded its seventh consecutive victory.

Topoleski also scored three runs, while Jevoanny Tolentino also posted three hits with a RBI and two runs scored. Chris Waylock also had a 3-for-4 outing to increase his hitting streak to seven straight games. Andrew Bowerman went 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to six in a row, while Jeremiah Tullidge and Jalen Shuffler tallied two-hit performances for the Pioneers.

TC opened up the scoring with a four-run second inning, highlighted by Topoleski's two-run double. TC added a run each in the third, fourth and sixth innings to jump out to a 7-0 lead.

Meanwhile, Tusculum starter Placido Torres was having another outstanding outing as he followed up last Friday's two-hit shutout of Anderson University with six shutout innings against the Cobras (11-22, 4-15 SAC). Torres scattered four hits with two walks and posted eight strikeouts to improve to 5-2 on the season.

TC's Christian Raasch tossed two shutout innings where he allowed two hits, a walk and three strikeouts.

Coker finished the game with eight hits, including two-hit outings from Bryson Conner and Will Winslow.

Of Tusculum's 17 hits, five went for doubles.

The two teams will close out the weekend series on Saturday with a noon doubleheader.
