MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- Kyle Butler pitched six shut out innings to lead the University of Montevallo baseball team to a 10-1 win over visiting Tusculum College Sunday afternoon at Kermit A. Johnson Stadium. The Falcons (22-26) take two of the three games this weekend as the Pioneers wrap up their regular season at 33-18 overall.

Montevallo finished with 11 hits on the day while four pitchers limited Tusculum to one run and five hits in the contest.

Tusculum junior Aaron Guinn went 2-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to six consecutive games. Seniors Sean Cotten and Rolondo Bonner each accounted for a hit to wrap up their respective collegiate careers, including Cotten as he singled in his final at-bat. Bonner finished his TC career with a 13-game hitting streak, while Cotten hit safely in his last eight contests.

Chris Ross, Scott Deason and Heath Patterson each tallied two hits for Montevallo.

The Falcons jumped out to a 10-0 lead, while Butler limited the Pioneers to just a pair of hits through the first six innings. Butler (6-4) recorded seven strikeouts and walked two in the victory.

Tusculum plated its run in the top of the eighth inning as Pat Holleran led off with a single and later scored on Cody Coffman's sacrifice fly.

Tusculum starter Adam Sigmon (2-3) suffered the loss as he went 3 1/3 innings. In all, six Tusculum pitchers saw action on Sunday.

Cotten will leave Tusculum as the school's all-time leader in home runs (35), runs batted in (186 - 10th in South Atlantic Conference history), total bases (385 - 10th in SAC history) and bases on balls (106 - 8th in SAC history).
