Jordan, Burrowes named Zaxby's Athletes of the Week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum guard Connor Jordan and outside hitter Emiah Burrowes have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week. Burrowes earns Zaxby's honors for a second time this fall.

Jordan, a senior from Morristown, Tennessee, poured in a game-high 22 points to lead the Pioneer basketball team to an 83-77 season-opening win over Lander University last Friday. He also posted three rebounds, three assists and two steals while going 6-of-7 from the charity stripe including a pair of free throws in TU's 12-1 run in the final three minutes to secure the victory.

Burrowes, a senior from Wesley Chapel, North Carolina, recorded a season-high 20 kills in Tusculum 3-0 sweep over Mars Hill in the regular season finale. She posted a .357 hitting percentage as she had five errors in her 42 total attacks. She also had a service ace, four digs and a block as TU secured a third-place finish in the South Atlantic Conference and record the Pioneers seventh consecutive win.

The Tusculum University Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Zaxby's, located at 3280 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville. The Zaxby's Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
