GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum cross country runners Pau Valdepenas and Emily Coddington have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week.
Valdepenas, a freshman from Barcelona, Spain, was the top collegiate finisher in the men's race at the Walters State Invitational. He posted an 8,000-meter time of 27:13.84 while competing in his second collegiate race.
Coddington, a senior from Acosta, Pennsylvania, won her second career victory as she crossed the line in 19:39.92, while was 23 seconds ahead of the second-place runner on the 5,000-meter course.
The Tusculum duos performances helped the Pioneers to runner-up team performances in the invitational meet.
The Tusculum University Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Zaxby's, located at 3280 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville. The Zaxby's Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
