GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum bowler Tucker Strack and track & field athlete Amber Hogan have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week.
Strack, a sophomore from Fargo, North Dakota, bowled a five-game series of 1,035 (207-201-223-221-183) to claim tournament MVP honors at the Muskie Mash. He was the top individual in the 74-bowler field while leading the Tusculum team to a third-place finish. 4427
Hogan, a sophomore from Piedmont, South Carolina, crushed her personal record in the weight throw by more than three feet and set a new program record with her second throw in the trials, then hit a mark of 14.02 meters (46 feet) on her fifth attempt. Hogan, who had legal marks on all six of her attempts and broke the old school record in four of them, placed eighth overall in the final standings.
The Tusculum University Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Zaxby's, located at 3280 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville. The Zaxby's Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
