GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum defensive back Andrae Robinson and libero Carly Sosnowski have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week.
Robinson, a sophomore from Covington, Georgia, posted five solo tackles and accounted for a pair of turnovers in Tusculum's 50-17 SAC win over Catawba. Robinson recovered a fumble in the first half and then recorded a program-record 97-yard interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. For his efforts, he was also named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Sosnowski, a graduate student from Oxford, Florida, averaged 5.5 digs per set as the Pioneers split a pair of SAC matches last week. She accounted for 21 digs and six assists in TU's 3-0 sweep at Coker. She followed with her first career double-double of 12 digs and 10 assists in a three-set match at No. 24 Wingate. The 2021 All-American is averaging 5.25 digs per set this year, which is currently listed third in the league.
The Tusculum University Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Zaxby's, located at 3280 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville. The Zaxby's Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
