Parham, Burrowes named Applebee's Student-Athletes of the Month

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University wide receiver Justice Parham and volleyball outside hitter Emiah Burrowes have been named the Applebee's Student-Athletes of the Month for October.

Parham, a junior from Tarpon Springs, Florida, averaged 75 receiving yards per game and hauled in three touchdowns in leading the Pioneers to a pair of wins in October. He posted nine receptions for 107 yards at Lenoir-Rhyne, which was preceded by six catches for 94 yards at 10^th-ranked Wingate. He made five grabs for 76 yards and two touchdowns in TU's 37-21 South Atlantic Conference victory over UVA Wise. He ended the month with five receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown at Catawba.

In the Catawba game, he became the 22^nd player in program history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a career. In just 14 games, he has posted 61 receptions for 1,053 yards with 11 touchdowns. This year, he leads the team with 41 catches for 689 yards and seven touchdowns, while also passing for one against Newberry earlier in the season.

Burrowes, a junior from Wesley Chapel, North Carolina, averaged 3.67 kills and 2.27 digs per set to go along with a .331 hitting percentage in leading the Pioneers to a 7-1 record in October. She had five double-digit kill outings including three times eclipsing 20 kills in a contest.

She posted a career-high 23 kills in TU's five-set win at Mars Hill and later added 21 kills and a .415 hitting percentage against Queens. Burrowes notched 22 kills and hit .390 in a 3-2 win against Limestone to close out the month.

For the month, she also posted four double-doubles to give her seven on the season. She is averaging 3.33 kills and 2.21 digs per set to go along with her .299 attack percentage.  Tusculum is 17-2 overall and 13-1 in league play and are currently atop the SAC standings with four road matches remaining. TU also posted a perfect 10-0 home record during the regular-season.
