GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University basketball guards Donovan Donaldson and Callie Patterson have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week. Donaldson earns his second Zaxby's Athlete of the Week honor, while Patterson garners her inaugural mention.
Donaldson, a senior from Nashville, Tennessee, scored a season-high 22 points against 19th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte. He went 8-of-14 from the floor including four 3-pointers while also grabbing three rebounds and recorded two assists and two steals in his 28 minutes of action. He currently leads the team in scoring averaging 13.4 points per game (15th in South Atlantic Conference).
Patterson hit a career-high five three-pointers and came up one point shy of her career high as she led six players in double figures with 21 points, as Tusculum defeated Queens University of Charlotte 94-62 Sunday afternoon. The Greensboro, North Carolina senior went 8-for-12 from the field and 5-for-7 from beyond the arc as the Pioneers earned the win. Patterson also had a season-high five rebounds and dished out a season-best three assists in 29 minutes in the victory.
The Tusculum University Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Zaxby's, located at 3280 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville. The Zaxby's Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
